LOVE these two. Two of the most important people in our lives. I thank God for them. ![]()

January 5th, 2012Happy New Year!!
January 2nd, 2012Since it’s past Christmas, it’s time to post some pre-Christmas photos on the blog! I could post them too early because these were Christmas presents for special family and friends.
This. This is one of my very best friends and her family. I seriously cannot get enough of Angie. She makes my heart happy.
{Christmas Tree Ornament}
December 9th, 2011How lovely is this time of year? We are really enjoying Portland, I noticed yesterday that I when I was watching the weather report, there wasn’t any rain in the forecast for a week! Lovely.
AND how lovely is this ornament?? This ornament was designed to look just like the baby’s birth announcement. And this way it’s not the usual “baby’s first Christmas” ornament. I’m sure you will get just as many of those as you normally would, but this one is different an unique. Why not get one of your family each year. You all change so much, document it and be reminded every year. Inquire for pricing.
Front. Can you see the nice edging they put around it. Just makes it a little more finished.

A side shot. They are nice and thick, not as delicate as you might think.

And this is the back. I wanted to show you this because it is see through.

{Mindy + Jason} married!!
November 10th, 2011I have recently relocated to Portland, OR, and a friend had asked me to second shoot for her in the Olympic National Forest. Jenica, of , said she had a need for a second photographer and since I have friends in the area, I signed up. WHAT an opportunity to shoot along side such an inspiring photographer. I was super excited. Super nervous, but excited!! While we were driving to meet the couple she said she wasn’t sure exactly where the event was, but was interested to find out.
We met the bride in, um, a different type of location.
It was a local grocery store. Too funny. But to my surprise, and GREAT excitement, the event was going to be held near Staircase!!! I was so wound up about this that I just couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. I had lived in Olympia for 5 years and had never visited Staircase. Oh my gosh.
Wow, what a fun and different couple. We had so much fun together!! This wedding was a long time coming. After three kids together, Mindy and Jason decided it was time to take the leap. I hope you enjoy the pics as much as I had fun shooting them, and helping out my good friend Jenica.
Ms. Lea :: Class of 2012
November 8th, 2011I have known this young lady since before her parents were married. Well, however you want to read this. I was in her parents wedding, as the oldest flower girl, making friends with her future aunt. You know, at the ripe old age of 10, you LOVE to make friends with the big girls that are in the wedding with you. Especially when all the younger, cuter flower girls are getting all the attention!
Moving on. I’m the oldest grandchild on this side of the family and she’s the youngest grandchild. I remember when this little miss was born, babysitting her older brother, and then her. Now, she’s preparing to graduate high school, move off to college, and do all those things 18 year olds do.
Congratulations, Lea. And congratulations, Kevin and Amy, for seeing both your kids through the high school years. I guess it’s not over yet, but it soon will be. Enjoy it while it lasts!!
Holiday Mini Sessions
October 28th, 2011Hello all!!! It is the season for Holiday sessions. I know there’s like TWO MONTHS before Christmas, but you’ve got to get the pictures, get them delivered back to you, get your cards going, ADDRESS the cards (the WORST part) and then get them mailed out before the recipient gets to hang them for longer than 2 days!! Or, if you’re like my mother, get them mailed out the week or two AFTER Christmas and then people just read it and toss.
Anyway, here’s the juice!
That’s, like, $200 worth of products alone!! You can use the images for cards (I have some fabulous ones if you want to see them!!), emailing to friends and family, print them out for friends and family, put ‘em on facebook, whatever!! You just can’t alter them in anyway.
Happy Holidays!!
Happy Halloween!!
October 12th, 2011Oh my goodness. How stinking cute is this little boy?? I had such a good time, I can’t believe it’s been three months since I’ve seen his face. He’s just the same, only bigger! I’ve missed him, as well as his parents. They came to Portland for a visit and also a little torture
No, really, he did super well. I think he’s a seasoned pro at this point.
A Big Change
September 26th, 2011Wow, can I just tell you? It has been a crazy, busy summer. And now it’s fall!!
For those of you who follow my blog and are military, we have PCS’ed to Portland, OR!! For those of you who aren’t military, that just means that we’ve moved to Portland. It’s only temporary, a year. We will definitely be stationed at a military post next summer. We are hoping, of course, it will be back to the Fort Lewis area, but with the military you just never know. We’ve had such a great time in Washington and have great friends and church family there.
Now it is a different season in life. A new city, new schedule, new friends, new church. Lots of changes for all of us.
So, I guess, this is where it gets hard. With my husband’s work schedule, it will be very difficult to plan sessions with clients. I’m not NOT taking clients, just on a very limited basis. And this goes for the Fort Lewis area and the Portland area. If you have fallen in love with my work, please call me. Washingtonians, I will see what I can do. Maybe I’m already planning a trip up there to visit friends or to shoot a session I already have on the books. Portlanders, if I cannot accommodate your schedule, I can refer you to some fabulous photographers in the Portland area. And I mean fabulous.
Thank you to all who have been such great clients. I truly appreciate all your loyalty and support. And for those of you who have called me since I’ve moved, I am very flattered. Thank you. I’m sorry I haven’t posted this sooner, it’s just something I’ve dreaded, but also just didn’t know what to say. But now it’s all out!!
I will still be posting here. Sometimes it will be clients and sessions, sometimes it will be fun stuff (Wait until my next post!!! Eeeek! So excited!!), sometimes it will be just my kids. But pease check back and keep in touch.
Love in Christ,
Dawn
Fabulous girls
August 24th, 2011This family of ladies was SUCH a fun shoot!! It didn’t last long because in good Washington fashion, it was RAINING!! But I think it held off just enough for us to get some fabulous shots. These ladies are very special to me and the girls are just to die for. They are just the sweetest little girls, and all of these ladies would do just about anything for you!! Ladies, I hope you enjoy seeing yourself on the blog and Bryann, hope you enjoyed the images!!
